RTI’s KX2 and T2x Controllers Honored With Resi Awards and Technology Integrator EXC!TE Awards at CEDIA EXPO 2013

SHAKOPEE, Minn. — Oct. 3, 2013 — Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) today announced that its KX2 in-wall controller and T2x handheld controller were honored at CEDIA EXPO 2013 with Residential Systems’ Resi Awards in the categories of Controller (Touchpanel) and Controller (Wand-Style Remote Control), respectively. In addition, both controllers were recipients of Technology Integrator EXC!TE Awards.

Presented by Residential Systems magazine, the 10th-annual Resi Awards honor the most innovative residential electronics products based on their industrial design. The EXC!TE Awards, presented annually by Technology Integrator magazine, pay tribute to products that stand out for being innovative, high-performing solutions oriented to the custom installation professional.

“CEDIA marked the debut of a number of new RTI solutions, and the KX2 and T2x certainly made quite the impression. We couldn’t be more excited that they also made an impact with the judges of these two prestigious awards,” said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. “The controllers combine absolutely stunning designs with cutting-edge features for a control experience unlike any other. Whether it’s the KX2’s ambient light and proximity sensors or the T2x’s three built-in wireless modes, the units take full advantage of the latest technologies to bring control to the next level.”

The elegant KX2 features a 2.8-inch QVGA LCD display with a completely customizable interface and engravable hard buttons, while multiple bezel options allow it to blend into any décor seamlessly. The controller’s sleek design is complemented by a host of features such as direct IR control, integrated 10/100Base-T Ethernet port with Power over Ethernet (PoE), and two-way control when incorporated into an RTI control system. To enhance the user experience, the KX2’s ambient light sensor adjusts its back lighting in accordance with its surroundings, while a proximity sensor automatically brings the controller to life when approached by a user.

For a control experience that is second to none, the T2x features a completely customizable 2.8-inch color TFT LCD touchscreen interface. The flush-mount, edge-to-edge touchscreen is designed to provide users with improved gesture support, while integrated grip sensors keep the T2x awake during use and an accelerometer provides the convenience of instant-on control. For the ultimate in reliability, the T2x includes three built-in wireless modes. In addition to integrated 802.11b/g wireless Ethernet, the controller features RTI’s dual-RF platform, which supports both 433-MHz RF for one-way control and 2.4-GHz ZigBee(R) for bidirectional communication.
