SDVoE Alliance Partners with CEDIA to Present Educational Webinar: The Essential Download on AV over IP

Moderator David Meyer, CEDIA’s director of technical curriculum, and panelist Justin Kennington, SDVoE Alliance president, tackle the tough questions

On Thursday, May 18 at 4 PM EDT (UTC-4), CEDIA’s director of technical curriculum David Meyer and SDVoE Alliance president Justin Kennington will present an educational webinar titled The Essential Download on AV over IP.

In a landscape of ever increasing demands on video performance, AV distribution over Ethernet continues to evolve and is now reaching the pivot point where benefits may far outweigh the compromises. This webinar will address the questions: What are the options available? What are the pros and cons of the different approaches? Will AV over IP really take over from the matrix switch as the go-to residential solution?

“CEDIA is renown for the depth, breadth and quality of its training and education programs,” said Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “Our industry is hungry for AV-over-IP standards and education and that is a central mission of the SDVoE Alliance, so I am thrilled to be working with CEDIA to help clear up some of the confusion.”

Registration for the webinar is in the events section of the CEDIA website.

About the SDVoE Alliance
SDVoE is an initialism for “Software Defined Video over Ethernet”. The SDVoE Alliance is a nonprofit consortium of technology providers collaborating to standardize the adoption of Ethernet to transport AV signals in professional AV environments, and to create an ecosystem around SDVoE technology allowing software to define AV applications. The alliance participates in tradeshows and conferences, publishes white papers and case studies and promotes SDVoE technology, and solutions based on the technology, to system integrators, designers and consultants. Training and installer certification are also part of the mandate. The SDVoE Alliance founding members are AptoVision, Aquantia, Christie Digital, NETGEAR, Sony and ZeeVee. All interested parties are invited to join the alliance and work toward its goals. For more information, visit sdvoe.org and follow us on Twitter @SDVoE.
