products to our rental inventory was perfect timing,” said Mark Chalberg, Technical Director & Audio Manager, at Showcore. “We were facing an immediate challenge of how to implement the audio-visual solution we had designed for a client holding an event in a very unique environment.”
client was looking to maximize their investment in their event planning by using the main event room of the hotel for their opening session and then quickly turning the room into two separate break out rooms; both requiring audio-visual solutions.
“We came up with the perfect design that included a large center screen with two side screens to allow the event participants to see the presentations when they were all assembled for the opening session,” described Chalberg. “We knew that during the break we could simply split the event room in half and that the center screen would be enclosed in the air walls leaving the side screens to be used for display in the now separate break out rooms. Our challenge was how to have the same simplicity and efficiency with the audio.”
Showcore recognized that the ConfideaA® Wireless Conferencing system was the solution. The opening session was set with crescent round tables for seven people with one microphone unit on each table. Two Wireless Conferencing Access Points were placed at each mixing station so that when the room was split in half a single system became two systems in a matter of minutes.
“Our client was completely satisfied,” said Chalberg. “They thought the table mics were a hit, and that they’ll be a permanent fixture in their meetings going forward. They felt it turned what used to be a one-way lecture into a two-way conversation and kept the audience involved and captive.”
