Sommer Cable Introduces SC-Aqua Marinex Cable Series

Germany’s Sommer Cable has introduced the new SC-Aqua Marinex, a rugged and robust universal cable series designed for installation outdoors and in risky wet areas — with complete confidence.

Sommer Cable now offers their watertight Aqua Marinex cable series with additional connection variants and, for especially tough demands, has developed rodent-proof versions with a built-in braid of aramide fibers, as used in bullet-proof protective vests.

Facility integrators who install cables in the garden, on the terrace, near water, in sauna facilities, in boatbuilding or on sports grounds demand confidence that the material used is going to withstand all weather and environmental conditions, such as rain, snow, ice, mud, sea or chlorine water, steam or heat. Sommer’s connection solutions for the cable professional can be used with full confidence.

Depending on the connection type, the cables in this new series are suitable for permanent installation under water with a maximum depth of 50 m (164 ft.). A special PUR jacket with water-blocking tape minimizes the intrusion of water and other liquids and stops longitudinal spreading in case of cable damage. The transversely watertight design stops water from spreading into the inner insulation layers. Matching connectors in the protection classes IP44 and IP67, as well as fully ready-assembled solutions complete the range.

A comprehensive overview is given in the company’s latest brochure:
