InfoComm 2014, Booth C9025 — SoundTube Entertainment’s STNet IP-Addressable speaker system is now in stock and available for delivery. The system provides a rack mountable 16-port switch and 40 watts PoE (Power over Ethernet) input power to its speakers along with report-back functions. Current speaker models include the in-ceiling IP-CM52-BGM, IP-CM52s-BGM, IP-CM62-BGM and IP-CM82-BGM, and the surface-mount IP-SM500i-II. Additional speaker models are slated to be added to the system in the future.
Using the CobraNetA® audio standard as its backbone, the system allows each SoundTube speaker on the network to be powered via its Ethernet cable and individually set up and equalized. Each speaker can receive different audio signals and is continuously monitored by the system to provide report-back status to the main control point. Any failure in the speaker will immediately trigger an alarm (either visible or audible), and the system can be configured to send an e-mail message to the installer. The STNet is compatible with all other CobraNet-enabled control systems, and multiple SoundTube switches may be linked for large speaker systems.
In addition to the 16 Ethernet ports, the STNet-Switch includes two gigabit ports for linking of switches and a WAN port for connection to an outside network.
