Teenage Professional Car Racer Devin O’Connell to Live Stream from Cockpit Directly to Facebook Live with TVU Networks

O’Connell’s Live Video Stream from Inside Moving Race Car Debuts During Claremont Speedway Race on June 2nd

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – Throughout his career nineteen-year-old race car driver Devin O’Connell has broken through barriers. Diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome as a young child, Devin has championed the cause of Autism awareness while winning several titles, including:  U.S. Legend Cars Semi-Pro Road Course World Champion, U.S. Legend Cars Semi Pro Asphalt National Champion, Stafford Motor Speedway U.S. Legend Cars Track Champion and the Allison Legacy Touring Series Champion.

At the upcoming Granite State Pro Stock Series at Claremont Speedway in New Hampshire, both Devin’s skill as a driver and the boundary-breaking technology involved in video-over-IP transmission will be showcased live online.

At the event, Devin’s super late model stock car will be outfitted with a TVU One mobile IP streaming newsgathering transmitter from TVU Networks – which enables high-quality video transmission from virtually anywhere, at anytime and under any circumstance, including a car racing at speeds of 185 miles per hour or more. Devin will live stream all of the action from his race car’s cockpit directly to Facebook Live using the TVU One transmitter.  Video will be streamed to Facebook Live during Devin’s 100-lap race, which takes place on Friday, June 2nd.

Devin will continue to live stream the remainder of his 2017 season races to Facebook Live with the TVU One. TVU Networks is a sponsor of Devin’s throughout the 2017 racing season.

“We’re truly impressed with Devin’s accomplishments in the sport of racing at such a young age,” said Paul Shen, CEO, TVU Networks. “Being able to see Devin race from his cockpit in real-time is going to be an exciting event to watch. We are happy to support Devin’s efforts to give racing fans the opportunity to see what racing is like from his vantage point – whether they’re tuning into his Facebook Live from the stands at the race, or from their living room couch across the country.”

Devin O’Connell said, “I’m super excited to bring this technology into short track racing. I believe it will showcase racing in a positive way and bring new fans into the sport.”

Last year, Devin took the opportunity to make a big step up in his racing career as he began competing full-time on the American-Canadian Tour circuit. The young racer claimed the 2016 American Canadian Tour rookie-of-the-year honors last fall.

Diagnosed at the age of nine with Autism, Devin often publically speaks about how he has managed to turn his disability into a different type of ability. Early on, the environment at the track proved to be a great place for Devin to socialize with other kids who also loved to talk about racing and cars. These days, Devin likes to give back by telling his story and sharing what he has learned to inspire and give hope to others.
