(VSI) today announced that it will demonstrate the company’s new PackeTV(R) Mobile streaming media delivery platform in conjunction with Video Technology Services, Inc.’s (VTS) Sky-S.I.S-Seat Integrated System at the 2013 Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) and the International Flight Services Association (IFSA) Expo, the airline industry’s premier conference and trade show. Leveraging VSI’s PackeTV Mobile server and IFE seat-integrated technology, the VTS Sky-S.I.S can stream high-quality HD video content to tablets mounted throughout an aircraft cabin.
At the 2013 APEX/IFSA Expo, VSI will highlight the features and benefits of PackeTV Mobile to showcase how the product simplifies the delivery of high-quality live and file-based IP video content in airplanes, significantly enhancing the inflight passenger entertainment experience and increasing revenue streams for airline operators. By providing content in a variety of bit rates and screen sizes, PackeTV Mobile offers the best quality of experience for passengers while distributing content efficiently over any wired, wireless, 3G, or 4G network.
VSI’s HTTP streaming media platform is built on an entirely server-based design that can be scaled to support an unlimited number of airline passengers.
