Women in Consumer Technology Thinks Bigger at CEDIA 2016

HOLLYWOOD — Aug. 9, 2016 — Women in Consumer Technology, an organization that promotes the advancement of women in the consumer technology industry, today announced details for its eighth annual gathering at CEDIA 2016. For the first time, the event will be an expanded luncheon session, held Friday, Sept. 16 with doors opening at 11:30 a.m. and program starting at 12:15 p.m. at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Dallas Convention Center, ballrooms C1 and C2. Kendra Thomas, head of global diversity for Pearson, will discuss how gender intelligence can transform the workplace culture.

In her dynamic session “Great Minds Think Unalike,” Kendra Thomas sheds a light on how to become more gender intelligent in the workplace, while leveraging the unique skills that men and women bring to the table. Thomas believes that true culture change happens when we stop simply counting the number of women on a team and instead focus on building teams that effectively optimize the talents of both men and women. Numerous case studies have noted that organizations with high levels of gender intelligence are better able to realize the significant benefits of truly transformative inclusion, such as: attracting and retaining high-quality talent, experiencing superior financial performance, having greater responsiveness to customers and markets, and enjoying more engaged and motivated employees.
