WSDG to Discuss ‘Invisible Acoustics Part 2’ at CEDIA Expo

Denver, Colorado, August 19, 2019 — Global acoustic consulting and audio-visual integration firm WSDG will be lecturing at this year’s CEDIA Expo, which takes place at the Colorado Convention Center between September 10th and 14th. The presentation, which will be delivered by WSDG Partner and Director of Business Development Sergio Molho, is titled “Invisible Acoustics Part 2: Aesthetically Acceptable/Acoustically Imperative New Innovations, New Applications” and will cover the latest solutions for achieving optimal levels of audio clarity and intelligibility in residential, home theater and a myriad of other environments.

The CEDIA Expo is focused on the residential design and integration market, bringing together more than 20,000 residential technology professionals and over 500 exhibitors. During its presentation, which will be held on Thursday, September 12th at 1:00 p.m. in Room 108, Molho will highlight a range of aesthetically pleasing, affordable and effective solutions that are available to designers to inhibit excessive sound levels and improve speech recognition. These solutions include perforated wood surface treatments, acoustically absorbing (smooth) plaster, transparent micro-perforated foil, seat cushions built with sound absorbing acoustic materials and many other solutions.

“Outstanding acoustics is no longer a ‘nice to have’ — it is a core expectation in both high end residential and commercial environments,” said Sergio Molho. “The days of heavy draperies and ungainly wall treatments have been replaced by a new generation of elegant and virtually invisible acoustic treatment solutions. This lecture will enlighten CEDIA attendees on a range of solutions that are available today — that are both acoustically efficient and aesthetically pleasing.”

The presentation will discuss how these new materials and techniques can be integrated during the design phase rather than after construction — so designers can avoid costly and time-consuming renovations. During his presentation, Molho will cite specific project examples including La Cigale Sky View Terrace & Madison Piano Bar in Doha, Qatar; Boscobel House in Garrison, NY; Musical Theater in Basel Switzerland and others.
