The STEP Foundation, the non-profit organization dedicated to bringing smart and sustainable practices to the process of planning, designing, integrating and operating information communication technology (ICT) systems, has announced a new program recognizing sustainable manufacturers.

The STEP for Sustainable ICT Manufacturers program allows ICT manufacturers to capture, advance and recognize sustainable facilities and manufacturing practices in a single place, with a transparent and self-reporting framework. This program can also be considered a tool for manufacturers to support and advance its sustainability efforts.

“The objective of this program is to support and recognize the industry’s strong commitment to the environment,” said Allen Weidman, Executive Director of the STEP Foundation. “This program will highlight the contributions so many ICT manufacturers have made to make the industry sustainable and limit its impact on the environment.”

To qualify for the program, manufacturers of ICT products or components must be a member of a STEP partner organization. The program only applies to the manufacturing facilities, and not the products and services of the manufacturer. A STEP license is required per facility

Companies interested in participating in the Sustainable ICT Manufacturers program and pricing should visit thestepfoundation.org.

InfoComm is a Supporting Organization of STEP.
