CLEAR-COM® PUTS USERS IN CONTROL WITH DEBUT OF V-SERIES DESKTOP AT INFOCOMM 2008

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, JUNE 6 2008—

Clear-ComA® Communication Systems, a brand of The Vitec Group, is bringing control of its Eclipse Digital Matrix Intercom System to the users’ fingertips with the new, compact

V-Series Desktop

unit. This latest addition to its family of V-Series Panel products can sit on a tabletop or can be wall-mounted for quick access and increased convenience. A leading innovator of communications solutions for the live performance, broadcast, government and commercial markets, Clear-Com is showcasing the V-Series Desktop at InfoComm 2008 with its new compact V-Series Desktop unit (Booth C3583).

The Desktop unit, complete with a low-profile loudspeaker and gooseneck microphone, is designed with the users’ needs in mind. Each of its 12 talk-down/listen-up keys, including one dedicated for answer-reply, has individual audio level control. A clear, bright, graphical display shows 10 international characters including Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Cyrllic, for greater flexibility in the naming of sources and destinations. The shift button offers eight additional switch pages and the menu button provides access to assignment and set-up menus.

“The new V-Series Desktop presents the same audio quality our users have come to expect from all of our user panels and extends it to the desktop for portability and convenience,”? says Jake Dodson, Vice President of Product Management. “Since it is not rack-mounted, it can be easily moved throughout the facility, all with the best, most intuitive display in the industry. Whether it’s an unexpected executive in the control room, a set production manager in a workshop or an audio engineer working the soundboard, V-Series is designed to put users in control with the touch of a finger for easy, reliable and seamless communication.”?

All panels in the V-Series line feature Clear-Com’s widely acclaimed “Listen Again”? technology that employs digital audio memory to replay the last 30 seconds of received audio from all sources routed to the digital recorder as a mix, aiding communication in noisy and demanding environments. Additionally, the DSP Technology within the V-Series panels can pre-record outgoing voice messages to include facility location and user status.

Advanced digital signaling processing (DSP) gives operators increased control over their panels’ audio, including routing, EQ, mic levels and limiting/compression as well as headset sidetone. It also enables intelligent dimming and local IFBs. As with all of its V-Series Panels, the Desktop unit takes advantage of Clear-Com’s newest version of its powerful Matrix Mapping tool, ECS v5.0. Panel keys offer individual mix level control, allowing users to set personal audio levels to suit individual workflows. Presenting users with increased control over their audio environments, the V-Series Desktop provides producer/commentator dual operation with stereo monitoring, binaural headset listening, cough switching and local intelligent IFB control/loudspeaker dimming.
