Digital Projection unveils 20,000 lumen TITAN Quad 2000 “Super Quad‘ series

Digital Projection International (DPI), an EmmyA® Award-winning manufacturer of high-performance projection systems, announces a monumental brightness expansion of their flagship TITAN projector line with the 20,000 lumen TITAN Quad 2000 series. Termed the ‘Super Quad,’ the Quad 2000 platform incorporates DPI’s advanced image Warp and Blend capabilities, three native resolutions, active 3D connectivity, and a host of professional features to suit any rigorous commercial or staging application imaginable. The TITAN Quad 2000 platform marks the world’s first projectors of this brightness, in a chassis with such a small form factor. ‘Super Quad’ projectors are already shipping and are available today.

Delivering 20,000 lumens of dazzling brightness, the new ‘Super Quad’ projectors reveal powerful 3-chip DLPA® performance available in an incredibly rugged, compact chassis. Utilizing DPI’s new, advanced electronics, all TITAN Quad 2000 models provide the user with the ability to make extensive geometric warp correction via the adjustment of an interpolated grid array of up to 16 x 16 nodes. Furthermore, up to eight warp maps can be generated, downloaded and stored within the projector’s electronics. On board adjustments for Pincushion, Barrel, Cornerstone, Vertical and Horizontal Keystone, and even Image Rotation, are also standard in the new TITAN Quad 2000 displays.

Superbly capable edge blending and multi-projector tiling are provided by way of high bit depth processing that ensures a seamless, contiguous image can be created from multiple projectors. Black Level Uplift in all non-blend areas guarantees uniformity across the screen, even when dark image content is displayed. Additionally, end users can choose to utilize the TITAN Quad 2000’s onboard tiling function by assigning each projector a position within an image matrix. The video processing then automatically extracts the appropriate segment of the input signal to be displayed by each projector in the array, and enables blending for the appropriate edges.

TITAN Quad 2000 displays are equipped with DPI’s exclusive 3D advances that further extend the remarkable flexibility engineered within each TITAN display. Applications with 120 Hz native sources can utilize the High Bandwidth Input, eliminating the need for frame doubling. For 60 Hz 3D applications, DPI’s built-in Dual Flash Processingâ„¢ enables distribution of 3D content via 60 Hz formats by frame-doubling the signal within the projector. This produces the low flicker image characteristics of a native 120 Hz source without the infrastructure costs associated with distributing and switching ultra-high bandwidth signals.

Announced as an evolution of the 16,000 lumen TITAN Quad displays introduced by Digital Projection at InfoComm 2011, the capabilities of the remarkably powerful ‘Super Quad’ displays perfectly complement other revolutionary technologies that have made DPI’s precision displays the go-to standard for commercial venues for over 15 years. TITAN Quad 2000 series projectors employ four 465 watt high intensity discharge lamps to produce powerfully bright imagery, making them suitable for a wide variety of demanding medium and large venue applications. DPI’s ColorMaxâ„¢ technology presents the most flexible color management system available today, and serves as a powerful color calibration tool, whether the installation calls for a single projector or an array of projectors in tiled / blended applications.
