Extron XTP Systems Now Provide Seamless Integration of Broadcast 3G-SDI Video

Publish date:

Anaheim, California (September 16, 2015) - Extron Electronics is pleased to introduce the XTP CP 4i 3G‑SDI, an XTP board that provides four inputs for connection of 3G‑SDI signals into any XTP CrossPoint or XTP II CrossPoint matrix switcher. Each input features automatic equalization to optimize signal quality over long cable runs, plus buffered loop-throughs with reclocking to support local monitors or additional distribution needs. Four analog stereo audio inputs offer embedding capability, and two channel AES audio extraction allows flexible audio management and breakaway audio switching. The XTP CP 4i 3G‑SDI supports signal rates up to 2.97 Gbps, and is ideal for connection of remote PTZ cameras and other broadcast video sources in professional applications, such as videoconference environments and live events.

"Consultants and integrators now have the flexibility and convenience of supporting 3G‑SDI video equipment within their AV signal switching and distribution designs," says Casey Hall, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Extron. "Whether it’s a videoconferencing application or a city council meeting, this new XTP input board accepts and converts broadcast video signals for easy routing within XTP Systems."

XTP Systems provide a completely integrated switching and distribution solution for multiple digital and analog formats. They support local connectivity, as well as extended transmission capability to send video, audio, bidirectional RS‑232 and IR, and Ethernet up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CATx cable, and even greater distances over fiber optic cabling. XTP II CrossPoint matrix switchers are available for 16x16, 32x32, as well as larger 64x64 I/O sizes. Designed with an eye toward the future, XTP Systems are known in the industry to offer complete end-to-end AV system solutions of uncompromised quality and performance.
