New from Lutron – Maestro Dimmer with Discrete Occupancy Sensor

Coopersburg, PA (May 18, 2009) – Lighting control manufacturer Lutron Electronics Co., Inc., makes saving energy even easier with the new, unique Maestro dimmer with occupancy sensor – another great addition to Lutron’s energy-saving line of products.

This new Lutron product takes the company’s popular Maestro dimmer and adds an unobtrusive sensor to the sleek design. The occupancy sensor ensures that lights will only be on when the room is occupied, greatly reducing unnecessary energy use.

The sensor is equipped with Lutron’s exclusive XCTâ„¢ detection technology that senses fine motions, such as turning a page, to ensure the lights stay on when the room is occupied.

The dimmer allows users to set lights to their favorite level and dim them up or down as they see fit. Dimming the lights provides the ability to save additional energy, extend light bulb life and set the appropriate light level for a variety of activities.

Replace your standard switch with a Maestro dimmer with occupancy sensor and save up to 50%* in energy costs.

The Maestro dimmer with occupancy sensor:

• automatically turns the lights off after the room is vacated

• optional automatic on setting can turn the lights on when the room is entered

• lights turn on to the level at which they were last used

• same great dimming features as a standard Maestro dimmer

• great for laundry rooms, bathrooms, closets, garages, etc.

• suggested list price $54

Maestro dimmer with vacancy sensor also available:

• automatically turns the lights off after the room is vacated

• lights must be turned on manually

• meets the California Title 24 Energy Efficiency Standard requirements

• great for bedrooms and kid’s rooms

• suggested list price $54

A switch version of each is also available (suggested list price $50).

The Maestro dimmer with occupancy sensor will be available in July at home improvement centers, electrical distributors, lighting showrooms, online retailers and at lutronstore.com
