New Wireless Discussion Microphones Bring Digital Infrared Audio Quality to the Mainstream.

Smaller than your average smartphone, the new digital infrared wireless discussion system by TAIDEN presents low-profile microphone units in a compact package, meeting the need for clear audio of most boardrooms and videoconference spaces. The HCS-5335 product series, with gooseneck or boundary microphone options, is being introduced at the February ISE exhibition in Amsterdam, booth 3-C105. The solution is ultra-portable, with no equipment rack pieces. The infrared transmitter and central processor are combined in one small tabletop unit that can be placed at the center of the table with a wide coverage radius of 8 meters (26 ft.). A PoE Dante-enabled solution ensures simple, scalable installations with simplified wiring.

Key conference management capabilities – audio settings adjustments, battery charge monitoring, microphone activation, and camera tracking – can be achieved through web control, from any browser-enabled device.

“With their unobtrusive new design, these infrared microphones are opening doors for TAIDEN solutions in small to mid-sized meeting rooms, or even in huddle rooms” comments Jack De Keyser, Media Vision’s VP of Sales for Europe “Dedicated tabletop microphones ensure a far superior audio capture compared with ceiling mics or speakerphones; if they are easy to install without need for frequency planning, they will become a solution of choice for clear voice transmission even in smaller spaces”.

As for all TAIDEN wireless solutions, the HCS-5335 series is using the company’s proprietary digital infrared audio processing and transmitting technology with a wide frequency response of 20Hz to 20 kHz. They deliver high fidelity audio while avoiding the pitfalls of RF technology with no need for frequency management, no pairing, no eavesdropping, no crosstalk, and the ability to install multiple systems in adjacent rooms.

“In the past ten years, infrared audio systems have evolved from marginal use, supported by a few curious minds, to being appreciated by a large number of professionals” says Wesley Sutliff, Director of Product Management for Media Vision, “What I see in the new wireless microphones by TAIDEN is a solution that is more accessible, both from cost and aesthetic viewpoints, and that will help infrared go mainstream”

Previous models for TAIDEN Digital Infrared Wireless Conference System remain in production, meeting the need for larger multipurpose spaces, particularly with room combining. It has been Media Vision’s best-selling microphone solution for the past 8 years.

Appointments to view the new solution at Media Vision’s ISE booth #3-C105 can be made here.
