Peavey Commercial Audio Demonstrates Integrated Residential AV Control Systems at CES

PeaveyA® Commercial Audio, the audio system of choice in more than 10,000 installations worldwide, from the halls of U.S. Congress to Soccer City Stadium in South Africa to Beijing Capital International Airport in China, is demonstrating the robust capabilities of its audio processing and control products in a residential environment at the Consumer Electronics Show, Exhibit 25330 (South Hall 2), January 10-13, in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Peavey Commercial Audio is presenting the vast possibilities of its integrated product line in the design and implementation of whole-home audio, advanced home theater and home systems control. Through a multi-zone configuration representing various areas of a networked residential system—including a 5.1 surround home theater, living area, patio/pool area and more—the demonstration shows how the comprehensive suite of Peavey Commercial Audio products integrate to control audio, video and security/life safety through a mix of wired and wireless processors, networked power amplifiers, customizable touch-screen panels and the NWareâ„¢ Mobile iOS application.

Anchored and controlled by Peavey’s renowned MediaMatrixA® digitally configured and controlled audio system, and featuring PeaveyA®, Crest AudioA® and Architectural AcousticsA® components, the demonstration addresses the switching and control of source inputs, including content selection and playback; selection, routing, processing and control of outputs to zones within the home, including the ability to add and control the level and crossover for a ceiling-mounted subwoofer in multiple zones; audio routing, processing and control for a 5.1 home theater system; and hidden control and integration with external systems, such as a home security system.

“Since establishing MediaMatrix in the largest venues in the world over the past two decades, we have worked consistently to adapt our technologies to smaller and more economical installations,” said Hartley Peavey, founder and CEO of Peavey Electronics. “Now, the same level of audio processing and control that has been installed in professional venues worldwide is available for residential market applications. MediaMatrix provides consultants and installers in the residential market with a virtually endless variety of distribution, processing and control tools, and the flexibility, capability and ease of programming unique to the MediaMatrix product set.”

Peavey debuted MediaMatrix in 1993 as the world’s first digitally configured and controlled audio system. Today, it remains the industry’s most scalable and flexible digital audio distribution and processing system, and the standard network for major audio systems such as government and transportation facilities, theme parks, stadiums, casinos, arenas and other venues worldwide.
