WorxAudio Technologies has introduced the UltraMax M1-P full-range, high power speaker system and stage monitor. Featuring a 12in., 400W woofer and a 3in. diaphragm with a 160W large-format high-frequency compression driver housed in a tuned port enclosure employing equal angles (for floor positioning) among its list of key features, the ultra-compact loudspeaker system is equally adept at general SR applications in houses of worship, dance clubs, and musical theater, or in stage monitor applications.

The new UltraMax M1-P features a two-way design using a single 12in., 400W high-excursion, low-frequency driver in a tuned enclosure to provide maximum output with minimal distortion and smooth low-frequency response. A 3in. diaphragm with a 160W large-format compression driver coupled with a stabilized waveguide horn delivers clear, penetrating high frequencies over a controlled and easily predictable coverage area. The result is a remarkably balanced, natural sound that makes this versatile enclosure ideal for both general sound reinforcement and stage monitoring applications.

Like all WorxAudio loudspeaker systems, the UltraMax M1-P is built from tour-tested, 13-ply Baltic Birch forming a contoured enclosure that is augmented by double thick baffle board construction. This design results in an extremely rigid enclosure that reduces flex and sonic coloration caused by cabinet resonance and carries the added benefit of being more structurally robust. The speaker system is coated with a weather-resistant, multi-layered, catalyzed polyurethane finish (available in a variety of colors to match the environment) designed to withstand the rigors of the road. Protecting the drivers is a 14-guage, powder-coated, cloth-backed, perforated steel grill.

Of particular note, the UltraMax M1-P’s enclosure employs equal angles (for floor positioning) on the enclosures—enabling them to be used as stereo pairs, a trait uncommon in floor monitor designs. Additionally, the loudspeaker system incorporates a pole cup for “speaker on a stick” general sound reinforcement applications as well as L-track rigging hardware on both ends of the enclosure. This enables the speaker to be flown using a single- or double-post stud fitting in either end.

Power is provided by WorxAudio Technologies’ innovatively designed PMD-1 digital power amp. Featuring 500W of power to the low-frequency driver and 250W to the high-frequency section, the PMD-1 packs all the punch necessary to satisfy the most critical high SPL (sound pressure level) requirements. Further, the PMD-1 incorporates twin digital program processors, an XLR transformer with isolated I/O, and industry-standard AC PowerCon switchgear I/O.
