The Factor extender set has some diagnostics features that are helpful. It has a light to indicate power status, a light to show link status, and another light to show that a valid output is present. The price of this extender was close to the average compared to everything tested. The performance was not as good as an HDBaseT unit would normally be expected to perform. This set would not link past 200ft. with Cat-5, and it would not link past 225ft. with Cat-6. These results were both below the average obtained from all units tested. For some reason it would not link with a Blu-ray player as a source at all. We suspect that there may have been a defect with this set, but since Factor is located in Canada, there was not enough time to get a replacement set to re-evaluate. The Factor extender set supports bi-directional IR even though this feature was not tested.
