DPI Titan Ready for Portrait Mode
Digital Projection International announced that the Titan HD 600, sx+ 700, and 1080p-700 models have completed qualification for portrait use in either dual- or single-lamp operation. The models need only be rotated on their sides to project content in portrait orientation.

According to the company, portrait displays are a frequently requested solution for a growing number of applications. Some uses include achieving a taller image from a given throw distance than horizontal orientation would achieve, and increasing vertical screen resolution without the need to vertically stack and blend two projectors. Portrait capability also adds to the existing flexibility and deployability of the 8,000-10,000 lumen Titan models, DPI says.
Company officials said achieving portrait orientation on a Titan can be accomplished via one of four methods:
1. Orient the projector on its side, with the input panel facing up. Although the projector cannot be locked down this way, it’s a stable solution for temporary portrait orientation, such as when conducting demonstrations.
2. Add DPI’s optional Titan Portrait Adapters and the adjustable feet included with every Titan can be used to support the projector in portrait orientation. Beyond the added stability, the adapters also enable mechanical pitch and roll adjustability.
3. Add DPI’s optional RapidRig system to form a pitch, roll, and yaw, along with the lens shift. When equipped with the RapidRig system, portrait Titans can be configured for pedestal mount or attached to truss and flown using industry standard cheeseboroughs.
4. Add the Titan portrait ceiling mount kit, which will be available soon, and hang the portrait system as in a typical landscape installation.
