The Vitec Group RF Systems (VGRFS), the business unit of the Broadcast Systems Division of the Vitec Group, announced the appointment of microwave industry veteran Stephen W. Shpock as its new president and managing director.

The Vitec Group RF Systems (VGRFS), the business unit of the Broadcast Systems Division of the Vitec Group, announced the appointment of microwave industry veteran Stephen W. Shpock as its new president and managing director. In his new position, Shpock will oversee the Vitec Group’s three U.S.-based companies-RF Central, Nucomm, and Microwave Services Corp. (MSC) -and be responsible for their worldwide operations.

“My goal is to ensure that the Vitec Group RF Systems’ companies maintain their reputations as the leading specialists in microwave wireless transmission across the globe,” said Shpock. “I’m proud to take the reins during this historic transition to digital broadcasting, when the speed, cost, and bandwidth capabilities inherent to microwave wireless transmission will find more appreciation and application than before.”

Before joining VGRFS, Shpock was CEO of Thales Components Corp., where he was responsible for all North American component activities for the multinational Thales Group. He previously served as COO of MCE Technologies, where he led the strategic direction and coordination of all global manufacturing, engineering, and marketing activities. He will be based at the Nucomm headquarters in Hackettstown, N.J.
