Sanyo, a manufacturer or LCD and DLP projectors, added the PDG-DHT100L professional-class, 1080p native resolution, single-chip DLP projector to its lineup.

The PDG-DHT100L uses a dual-lamp system to emit 6,500 lumens, and is compatible with a full HD (1920×1080) signal. Contributing to the increased light output efficiency, the projector comes with two 330-watt HP bulbs and a twin color wheel system.

“The two-lamp PDG-DHT100L is perfect for brightly lit rooms wanting the best in graphics, video, or both together,” said Mark Holt, vice president and general manager of Sanyo’s Presentation Technologies Division, in a statement. “Moreover, it’s practically maintenance free and the picture-by-picture and picture-in-picture capability makes it a perfect projector for any size venue.”

The PDG-DHT100L has a twin color wheel system that offers increased color reproduction and light output efficiency, according to Sanyo, and includes two different user-changeable color wheels that are optimized for either high brightness or rich color reproduction. Either can be changed for intended applications by users. A built-in Color Matching function corrects variation in color reproduction when using more than one projector for edge blending applications.

The projector also comes with a new, dust-resistant, sealed optical engine, and the 25,000-hour-use Active Maintenance Filter (AMF). The sealed optical engine prevents dust build-up, while maintaining optimal brightness and contrast. The AMF system automatically detects airflow and advances clean filter material as needed. According to the company, integration of the new optical engine and the AMF system prevents dust from entering the lamp area and allows enough airflow to keep the projector cool.

Compatible with the company’s Uncompressed HD Data Wireless Transmission System, the PDG-DHT100L also features a 7,500:1 contrast ratio, a 50-inch to 600-inch screen size, and HDMI, DVI-D (w/HDCP), Mini D-sub 15, five BNC, and S-Video video inputs.

The PDG-DHT100L begins shipping this month for $21,995 (lens sold separately).
