Broadcast and AV systems integrator TV Magic designed and installed the AV system for the new city council chambers in Aliso Viejo, Calif. The design provides audio, video, and control for use at city council meetings and replaces the microphone and tape recorder setup previously used by the city during its bi-weekly sessions.

“Aliso Viejo is an emerging city, having only been incorporated in 2001,” said Glenn Yasui, director administrative services for the City of Aliso Viejo, in a statement. “Since that time, we have been using a very simple setup for our city council meetings, consisting of a microphone and tape recorder. With our new city council chambers, we wanted the ability to integrate audio, video, and PowerPoint presentations into our meetings.”

TV Magic replaced the old system with gooseneck microphones from Shure and loudspeakers from JBL. Two 50-inch Panasonic plasma screens and Crestron touch panels with Extron interfaces were also added. The new installation allows the Aliso Viejo city council to provide multimedia presentations to meeting attendees with a space-saving system that occupies only one rack.

“TV Magic provided technical expertise in the design and installation of the new system, and was flexible throughout the project. At one point, the ceiling height was lowered and they had to replace 56-inch monitors with 50-inch monitors, which was done quickly and efficiently,” said Yasui. “We have been using the AV system in meetings since February, and have been quite pleased with the results.”
