Westinghouse Digital Electronics, a manufacturer of LCD TVs, introduced the new neonSource, neonNow, and neonPlayer digital signage products at last week’s Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas. Created for the hospitality, education, food service, retail, and point-of-sale industries, the neonSource and neonNow software solutions give businesses the ability to create professional digital signs and ads.

“Our new solutions are very easy and intuitive to use and do not require a dedicated IT person for execution,” said John Araki, vice president and general manager, Commercial Business Unit, at Westinghouse Digital, in a statement.

NeonSource is a way for businesses to showcase their ads on any size flat-panel display while customers watch selected programming. Offered for displays in landscape mode, it is a customizable digital signage solution that allows users to create their own content. Featuring the company’s MosaicView technology that lets a business display multiple images simultaneously on one screen, neonSource is suited for businesses looking to upgrade a display that currently shows TV or video and turn it into an all-in-one signage solution.

The neonNow digital signage software comes preloaded with professionally designed templates that give businesses the flexibility to enter text for signage with an icon-based drag-and-drop user interface designed for simple insertion of logos, ads, or videos. The software includes several templates with customizable text feature for a variety of industries, with the capability to run in portrait and landscape modes.

The neonPlayer is a media player designed to play neonNow or neonSource digital signage software. Featuring a compact horizontal set-top-box style chassis and a front power button with display-status LED, it emits very little noise and heat for eco-conscious business owners, says the company.
