3M has made changes to its senior management team following the retirement of Dr. Moe S. Nozari, executive vice president, consumer and office business, which is effective July 1. Nozari has been with 3M since 1971.

Joe E. Harlan was elected to executive vice president, consumer and office business, effective July 1. Harlan came to 3M from GE in 2001, and since then has served as vice president, financial planning and analysis; president and chairman of the board, Sumitomo 3M Limited; and, since 2004, as executive vice president, electro and communications business.

Joaquin Delgado was chosen for the position of executive vice president, electro and communications business, also effective July 1. Delgado, who holds a Ph.D. in polymer science and engineering, joined 3M in 1987 and served in a number of technical capacities before being promoted to managing director, 3M Korea, in 2003. He was later named vice president, research and new business ventures, consumer and office business in 2005. In 2007, he became vice president and general manager, Electronics Markets and Materials Division.

“Moe Nozari’s customer and brand management acumen is unparalleled, and has been the driving force in establishing 3M’s consumer brands as among the most powerful in the world,” said George Buckley, 3M chairman, president, and CEO, in a statement.

“Joe and Joaquin are proven leaders with tremendous passion for serving customers and for driving innovation,” Buckley added. “Their extensive international experience meshes perfectly with 3M’s global growth agenda.”
