AMX Ships 10.2 Gbps HDMI Switcher

AMX this week announced the release of its new HDMI UTPro-0808 Matrix Switcher.

The HDMI UTPro delivers uncompressed 1920x1080p content up to 100 meters, according to the company.

The HDMI UTPro is a full matrix switcher that can route up to eight different HDMI sources, with HDCP authentication, to local displays via HDMI cabling, or remote displays via a single UTP cable. It operates at 10.2 Gbps to reach its maximum transmission distance without repeaters and incorporates AMX’s InstaGate technology, which the company says allows for HDMI signal switching without delays due to HDCP re-authentication and eliminates video stream interruption to existing HDMI signal paths.

“The HDMI UTPro, at 10.2 Gbps transmission, [enables] content that is literally beyond HD,” said AMX chief technology officer Robert Noble, in a statement. “Ensuring that our dealers are equipped with the most innovative products in the industry is a constant goal for us.”

AMX says the new matrix switcher is ideal for residential, commercial, and education installations, is HDMI 1.3 compatible, can support high resolution video including 1920x1080p at 60Hz, and utilizes Valens’ HDBaseT Technology, a new standard for digital transmission. With native-NetLinx functionality the HDMI UTPro Receivers give users IR or serial control of the display and include an IR Tx for remote control of the system.
