Meyer Sound’s latest release is the self-powered UPQ-2P narrow-coverage loudspeaker. As part of the UltraSeries, it offers an operating range of 55 Hz to 18 kHz and delivers a peak SPL of 136 dB. It has a constant-Q horn that yields coverage over a 50-by-50-degree beamwidth, which the company says results in minimal interaction with adjacent surfaces and neighboring loudspeakers. The UPQ-2P features a low-frequency 15-inch neodymium magnet cone driver and 4-inch diaphragm compression driver, while its two-channel class AB/H power amplifier yields a combined power output of 1,275 watts and uses QuietCool fan technology.
