Stewart Audio introduced its new IntraSound Audio System, which uses Cat-5 cable for transmitting signal and power to Class D micro amplifiers with selectable gain. The system ($349 to $569) consists of two components: the IS-HUB4 IntraSound four-port hub and the IS-AmpNode-10 amplifier node. The hub has four RJ-45 ports for audio and power, RCA or 3.5-mm stereo inputs, and a UL-rated, 60W power supply. In addition to stereo audio, each of the ports supplies up to 20W of power via Cat-5 to the amp nodes. As many as 20 nodes can be connected to the system. The solution is Energy Starcompliant, while the hub is plenum-rated and designed for installation above a ceiling or in other air spaces. 209-588-8111. www.stewartaudio.com.
