ViewSonic Introduces Whiteboard, Pro Projectors

The PJD7383i includes a pen that turns any available surface into an interactive whiteboard. It’s compatible with PowerPoint and WebEx software but has a PC-less display function that allows students to present via USB.
The PJD7383i is ViewSonic’s first model to offer full network display functionality. With the ability to connect globally over the Internet via IP and access other learning sites remotely, along with multi-user options that allow up to four users to present at once via split screen matrix, the new projector offers classroom-to-classroom connectivity for an ESP starting at $1,149 (software and pen included). The PJD7838i also includes Crestron’s RoomView Express for network control.
The portable, ultra short-throw projector uses BrilliantColor technology to produce vibrant colors, while delivering 2,500 lumens with a 1024×768 XGA native resolution. Its throw ratio measures 0.61:1 and it displays an 81-inch interactive image from 39 inches away.
“Interactivity is the key to engaged and effective learning, and we are proud to support the development of educational technology with the PJD7383i interactive projector,” said Erik Willey, director of product marketing for ViewSonic, in a statement. “By offering educators and presenters a flexible, fully connected solution at a fraction of the cost of traditional interactive whiteboards, we hope to bring interactivity to more classrooms and boardrooms across the U.S.”
Also new at InfoComm was ViewSonic’s Pro 8 series of installation projectors. The line includes the XGA Pro8500, WXGA Pro8450w, and full HD Pro8400, each with brightness ratings of 5,000 lumens.
All three projectors includes such connectivity options as RGBx2, HDMI, network over IP presentation, USB port, and wireless networking with an optional dongle attachment. Full network management capabilities are provided via Crestron RoomView Express control software, while network presentation software allows for multiple presenters in both 2:1 and 4:1 split-screen configurations. A wide 1.5x optical zoom provides flexibility, while a top-loading lamp and filter-free design ease maintenance.
The Pro8500 XGA projector is well suited for corporate boardrooms, lecture halls, auditoriums, and churches. The DLP projector offers the latest six-segment color wheel design, while the built-in 10-watt loudspeaker and audio output port complete its multimedia capabilities. The Pro8500 produces images up to 300 inches. It is scheduled to be available in August for an ESP of $1,649.
The Pro8450w WXGA boasts 4,500 lumens of brightness while the Pro8400 produces 4,000 lumens. Both solutions include a 1.5x optical zoom and include 120 Hz/3D capabilities. The Pro8450w is expected to begin shipping in August for an ESP of $1,549. The Pro8400 will be available in September for an ESP of $1,799.
