ViewSonic Ships Sub-$1,000 HD Projector
ViewSonic Corp. announced the addition of the Pro8200 projector to its Pro 8 Series projector line, with full HD 1080p resolution for high-definition viewing in the home.

ViewSonic Corp. announced the addition of the Pro8200 projector to its Pro 8 Series projector line, with full HD 1080p resolution for high-definition viewing in the home. Combining DLP and BrilliantColor technologies with 2,000 lumens and a 4,000:1 contrast ratio, the Pro8200 is designed to deliver clarity in any lighting situation, company officials said. The native 16:9 widescreen projector has a seven-segment color wheel for accurate color reproduction.
The Pro8200 has multiple input and connectivity options, including two HDMI 1.3 inputs with HDCP compliance and a component video input. It has a Pixelworks high-performance PW980 video processor and full RS-232 control for automation system integration.
“It is of paramount importance that we offer our customers an assortment of quality display solutions with extensive flexibility to meet a range of projection needs,” said Roger Chien, projector product manager for ViewSonic, in a statement. “Our Pro8200 is no exception, in that it is ideal for both home entertainment viewing purposes such as HDTV, movies and gaming, as well as for commercial AV installers requiring cost-effective HD solutions for corporate boardrooms, lecture halls, auditoriums and churches.”
The ViewSonic Pro8200 home theater projector is now available with a three-year limited parts and labor warranty at an estimate street price of $999.
