The primary Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) U.S. and worldwide feeds, as well as TBN’s Los Angeles flagship station, KTBN, have been transferred over to a new 10-channel master control facility. TV Magic designed and built the facility for TBN, the world’s largest Christian network, to help the network consolidate its operations and increase the quality of its on-air product. Since the fall of 2006, the master control facility has been providing domestic and worldwide feeds for five additional TBN channels: The Church Channel, JCTV, Smile of a Child, Healing (Arabic), and Nejat (Farsi).

The powerful new automated master control facility, located in Tustin, Calif., serves as the central point of control for the TBN network and its 26 owned-and-operated stations and 28 full-power U.S. affiliate stations, along with hundreds of LPTV outlets. With the addition of an HD channel and a new TBN feed for the East Coast later this year, the facility will complete consolidation of transmission operations for all the network’s domestically originated channels that are distributed to audiences across the globe.

”The engineers at TV Magic have helped us to establish a robust and reliable digital master control facility that greatly streamlines our operations and allows for much more effective monitoring of the multiple channel feeds,” says Ben Miller, vice president of engineering at TBN. “In addition to delivering a state-of-the-art master control system, TV Magic provides on-site engineering support for our master control facility, as well as for our production facilities in Tustin and Costa Mesa. The Support Services Group engineers assist our operations team in developing new workflows that simplify our day-to-day work and allow us to deliver a better end product to our viewers.”

“TBN’s Tustin master control facility offers significant power and capacity for all of TBN’s network operations at a single location,” says Stephen D. Rosen, president of TV Magic. “The network called upon us to help design and implement a forward-looking infrastructure that takes advantage of new tapeless workflows and paves the way for future growth. We’re very pleased with how the project has proceeded, and we look forward to seeing all of TBN’s broadcasts running out of this versatile new master control platform.”
