As the need for buildings to be smart and draw less energy and resources increases, facility managers are being tasked with keeping schools’ systems under control. APPA is the organization bringing these facilities managers together. There are more than 5,200 members in 1,500 learning institutions in the United States and abroad. AV integrators can hold business partner memberships, which gives them access to key educational facilities personnel. AV integrators will be interested in the 2010 expo in Boston in July, which includes sustainability and security and safety tracks.
