ASTC hosts Roundtables for Advancing
the Professions (RAP), small-group weekend
intensive on topics proposed by its
members. AV professionals might propose
a RAP in their areas in partnership with an ASTC-member
institution as well as become a technology speaker as part
of fulfilling ASTC’s mission to promote science learning.
Those interested in proposing a RAP have to meet RAP
guidelines and fill out a proposal form. Past topics have included
“Implementing Transactive Exhibits and Programs”;
“IT, the Next Generation”; and “Exhibits and Expansion
in the 21st Century.” The association also offers online
workshops and tutorials that could be of interest as a
sustaining member. There is an upcoming annual conference
and exhibit in October in Hawaii; as an exhibitor,
you can educate museum decision makers about your
products and services.
