- Audio-Technica debuts ATSP-30 Network Ceiling Speakers for integrated AV environments
Audio-Technica has introduced the ATSP-30 network ceiling speaker series, engineered to deliver intelligible audio with streamlined installation for modern meeting and collaboration spaces. Available in two models – ATSP-30LP (Audio-Technica LINK) and ATSP-30DP (Dante) – the new speakers integrate into networked AV systems, supporting efficient deployment across small- to medium-sized rooms. Sold in pairs (one active, one passive), the ATSP-30 speakers mount flush into drop or hard ceilings, offering a low-profile footprint while delivering wide 140° coverage and full-range sound. Designed for both speech reinforcement and multimedia playback, the system ensures consistent audio performance across conferencing, presentations, and background music applications.
- Leatherman releases limited-edition Captain’s Crunch multitool
Leatherman has launched a new limited-edition multitool through its experimental Garage line with an uncommon feature. The Garage Batch #008: Captain’s Crunch is CNC-machined out of 420 stainless steel with gold PVD details, and houses 11 tools. Most notable among these is the addition of locking pliers, a feature not commonly found among Leatherman’s multitools. The locking mechanism of the pliers is aided by a design unique to the Captain’s Crunch, where the pliers are housed in one handle and use a pivot point to attach to the other. The user can then dial things in further by adjusting the locking point of the pliers. - Disney patents new projection mapping system
Disney has filed a patent for a new method of large-scale projection mapping. Filed in December 2024 and published June 4 of this year, patent US 2026/0153748 A1 describes a large-scale projection mapping system with an extendable surface. Specifically, the patent is for a system with “a computing platform having a hardware processor and a system memory storing software code, as well as a projection unit controlled by the computing platform, the projection unit including a three-dimensional (3-D) extendable projection surface having an extending end and a non-extending end.” - Epson introduces new laser display lineup
Epson has announced 10 new PowerLite and BrightLink projectors, offering Full HD and 4K Enhancement across standard throw, ultra short throw, and portable options. Built on Epson’s 3-chip 3LCD technology, the company says that the new lineup delivers higher resolution and brightness with larger image sizes, enhanced connectivity, intuitive software, updated controls, and improved casting to simplify installation and maintenance. The lineup features an extensive range of brightness levels under 6,000 lumens, as well as throw distances, connectivity options, and installation tools at multiple price points. - L-Acoustics introduces L1 and CS1
L1 has been deployed on Bruno Mars’ The Romantic tour with Clair Global, for Harry Styles’ Together, Together tour with Solotech, and on Joker Xue’s world tour with MRT, as well as a debut at the Brit Awards in London with Britannia Row, a Clair Global company. 
CS1 delivered the low end on the main stages of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival with RAT Sound, and Ultra Music Festival with Unreal-Systems/AgorA. L1 and CS1 also mark their first permanent installation at the Hollywood Bowl, deployed in a white architectural finish, and the venue where the company officially unveils the new technology, alongside the new L-Acoustics Source Intelligence™ audio processing platform at Keynote 2026. - Sphere to expand to two more locations by 2030
Las Vegas’ $2.3 billion Sphere venue has been a runaway success, and Sphere Entertainment is looking to capitalize by opening up two more venues by 2030. The company has announced that Yas Island has been selected as the location for Sphere Abu Dhabi, and will be investing $1.7 billion into the project’s construction phase. Like the Las Vegas Sphere, it will have a capacity of up to 20,000, depending on the configuration for a given event. Additionally, a 6,000-seat “mini Sphere” is coming to National Harbor in Maryland with a target opening of 2030. It will also feature a 16K x 16K LED screen as well as an Exosphere, but the exterior screen will not operate overnight.
