Matrox Announces World‘s First SDI Cards with 12 Reconfigurable Inputs/Outputs

Matrox X.mio3 FH and DSX LE4 FH cards give developers multi-channel I/O from SD to 4K with support for AES/EBU, LTC, GPIO and optional advanced hardware processing

MatroxA® Video today announced the Matrox X.mio3 FH and DSX LE4 FH SDI cards, part of the next generation of Matrox DSXâ„¢ Developer Products. The half-length PCIe cards offers up to 12 reconfigurable I/Os, from SD to 4K, along with support for AES/EBU, LTC and GPIO. All inputs have built-in frame synchronizers to generate clean SDI signals for any environment. On Matrox X.mio3 FH, multi-channel hardware processing accelerates compute-intensive operations including motion-adaptive de-interlacing, up/down/cross scaling and mixing/compositing for all resolutions.

Matrox X.mio3 FH and DSX LE4 FH are the ideal hardware platforms for OEMs who need to create advanced channel-in-a-box systems, video servers, broadcast graphics systems, encoders, transcoders, multiviewers, switchers and other digital media equipment. Comprehensive development tools in the Matrox DSX SDKs for WindowsA® or LinuxA® include versatile file reading/writing, memory management, streaming synchronization, and a large selection of software codecs and effects. A prototyping tool provides a graphical representation of all hardware components so developers can simulate and test their use cases within minutes, before writing a single line of code. From a single development effort, broadcast equipment manufacturers can create a variety of products at a full range of price/performance levels.

“With 12 SDI channels, our new products give OEMs a unique 4K broadcast CG solution with support for live input, graphics compositing, and 4K fill and key outputs on a single card,” said Alberto Cieri, senior director of sales and marketing, Matrox Video. “Full compliance with the SMPTE ST 425-5 specification for image mapping for the quad link 3 GB/s SDI interface ensures worry-free connectivity with other equipment in the broadcast chain for 4K workflows.”

Matrox products will be demonstrated at BIRTV (Beijing, Aug. 27–29) on Matrox distributor Beijing Zhongheng Xingye Technology Group’s stand 1B107 and at IBC2014 (Amsterdam, Sept. 12-16) on the Matrox stand 7.B29.
