Audio-Technica’s new 96-channel system was created in response to the increasing demand for wireless microphone solutions for video- and web-conferencing. This system is a DECT-based wireless solution that addresses many challenges of conventional wireless microphones, such as frequency coordination and the limited number of available microphone channels. Innovations include all-day battery life, and the ability to customize by application with a Dante-enabled receiver and choice of four transmitters for bodypack, handheld, boundary, or desk stand, with matching charging stations for each. PoE, Wireless Manager software, AES256 standard, and simple scaling contribute to the practicality of the system. “Simple charging (and a 16-hour charge at that) make the system conform to the user’s needs instead of the other way around.”

Bose | PowerShareX Adaptable Power Amplifier

The new PowerShareX family of adaptable 1RU power amplifiers offers 1200, 2400, or 4800 watts of rated power across four channels. They easily integrate with Bose Professional DSPs, loudspeakers, and the entire ControlSpace ecosystem, including the Designer software. These networkable 4-channel amps provide power-sharing flexibility and seamless Dante connectivity. Systems designers can dynamically allocate power evenly or asymmetrically across outputs; with asymmetrical loading, The amplifiers provide a central power reservoir that can be allocated asymmetrically across each output, utilizing every watt. The judges praised the integration with ControlSpace software for speed of deployment and leveraging of features.

Alfalite | Litepix LED with ORIM Technology

Made entirely in Spain, these 1.9mm pixel displays are integrated with the company’s unique ORIM (Optical Injection Resin Module) technology, which offers viewers a 175-degree viewing angle with precision and no color degradation for extreme off-axis clarity. The DSP section is operable even when only PoE+ power is available. On a firmware-level protocol, audio over IP is managed through both Dante and AES67, and networking is achieved through three ethernet ports, allowing both AoIP and control redundancy and splitting control vs AoIP traffic. Compatible with ArmoníaPlus and third-party integration and integrated with the new Universo cloud control and monitoring software. “Very versatile amplifier line and adding cloud control gives this amazing potential.

LG | LBAG015 MAGNIT Micro LED Display

This dramatic virtual/extended reality screen incorporates the all-new LG MAGNIT DVLED tiles, a 1.5mm technology with the durability of a rental product. InfoComm attendees saw it as a 20’ wide by 11’ tall 4K Ultra HD display. This type of solution provides the aesthetic and feel of a much larger physical backdrop while affording powerful post-production options that eliminate the need for an enormous, full-set DVLED wall. Essential for environments like broadcast and virtual production studios where color representation is demanding, the MAGNIT incorporates LG’s Full Black Coating and enhanced Gamut Transfer technology. By carefully selecting an LED chip to determine color purity, its narrowed wavelength allows Studio Series MAGNIT to show uniform colors across the screen. Easy toolless installation and adjustment for curved deployment add to the practicalities. Judges called it “the most impressive display I’ve seen on the show floor in 2023,” and highlighted the innovative approach to virtual and extended reality.

From the judges: “Aurora continues to innovate across the AV/IT industry and their touch panel control systems provide more value and innovation than larger control companies. The new 4” desktop touch panel is often a better choice than 6-8” options especially when you combine the additional features built directly into the touch panel; installations will not only look cleaner but do more with less.”

Epiphan | Connect

Epiphan Connect turns Zoom and Microsoft Teams meetings into remote and hybrid video production assets. Add a Teams meeting URL and producers can access isolated video and audio from each participant. These isolated assets are available via SRT and can be added to any SRT-enabled production tool for recording or streaming. This provides a better-than-standard Teams resolution, up to 1080p with a cloud-based infrastructure that does not strain local hardware or networks. Screenshare is acquired through SRT, allowing any participant to share their screen without disrupting the production’s layouts. Plus, participants can see how they look within the finished production through a virtual confidence monitor. An SRT return feed activates the monitor and helps guests hit their cues. Judges called it a gamechanger for recording and producing unified communications and a fair tradeoff for having to layer hardware and software. “The persistent screen share is a great add, as is the virtual confidence monitor.”

Symetrix | xIO XLR-Series

These compact, die-cast, wall-mounted, mic/line, Dante-enabled endpoints incorporate the same studio-grade mic preamps and AD/DA signal chain as Symetrix’ popular DSP, along with a host of details for elegant installation and use. Four models transmit and convert audio with sampling rates up to 96K. The mechanical design incorporates a unique XLR mounting method that protects internal components and electronics. A unique front-panel RGB LED for each connector can be programmed to reflect any system parameter such as signal presence, clip, mute, or preset. Or they can easily be blackedout. “For integrators that want their installations to be clean and user-friendly, the die-cast metal chassis and customizable status LED lights match a high-end finish with 96k sample rates. One standout feature of the app is its ability to listen to predicted audio coverage within a venue without the need for physical speaker hardware. Through a simple selection and playback of an audio track with headphones, users can walk through the venue and experience the immersive sound firsthand. The app also provides graphical maps of audio speaker coverage and automates the calculation of EQ, levels, and delays for multiple speakers. It supports 3D models of rooms, enabling off-site simulation and configuration for venues that are not yet constructed. The app uses the built-in microphone of iPads or iPhones to calibrate and auto EQ the room. The app intelligently predicts frequency response, corrects for distance losses across audience sizes, and helps direct sound within the room. Judges found it sleek and easy to use.

Liberty | 6000 Series USB-over-IP Wall Plates

These wall plates are the first USB (and AV) over IP endpoints. This means no more stacking USB extenders for a simpler, cleaner, faster, more reliable USB extension and switching solution. A host device and a four-port client device support isochronous data transfer and transmit signals over standard IP. Each endpoint drives USB signals up to 100m per device – both local and remote endpoints extend signals at the same time for maximum signal transmission up to 200m. The decoder can install behind displays; the SDVoE plates support standard PoE+ and 10G Ethernet, and uniquely feature embedded ICRON technology, enabling interoperable USB routing with standalone 1G USB endpoints. Each USB host wall plate creates a virtual hub allowing Ethernet connectivity to as many as seven clients at once, such as interactive whiteboards, document cameras, PTZ cameras, mic/ speakers, game controllers, and KVM. The host (encoder) also features autoswitching between HDMI, which transmits to clients (decoders), and USB-C, which routes to USB2 endpoints. “This is a very streamlined solution. Minimizes boxes for a sleeker install.”

Aurora Multimedia | SKR-22T-XFR Ceiling Speaker

This affordable lightweight high-fidelity ceiling speaker reproduces a 180-degree sound field, allowing the use of only one speaker in a room for mono operation. Installation is quick, less costly, and less messy as there is no cutting of ceiling tiles or back boxes to mount. Just drop the tile into a 2×2 ceiling grid and connect the speaker. For 4×2 ceiling grids, all that is required is to cut the tile in half and add a standard ceiling divider. A compatible 25-watt PoE+ Dante amplifier using the Aurora DTX-AMP25-M can further complete the room audio solution. The DTXAMP25-M can also take Line in for analog systems as well. “These drop-in speakers are such a time saver for field installation teams. Sound quality was good, and the ability to work off Dante amps is equally as important.”
