CASE STUDY: Acuity Insurance

Ranked second on the list of top Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For, Acuity Insurance is a classic American success story. “Keeping our employees motivated and informed is key to our continued success,” says President & CEO Ben Salzmann, “so we created this new theater to help make that happen through quarterly employee town-hall meetings and smaller on-going group meetings and presentations held regularly throughout the year.”

Incorporating jumbotron-sized video walls into the new 2,000-seat theater posed a serious challenge because the two-level space is circular with seats installed in a shockingly vertical manner in a 65-foot radius from the stage. “It delivers the impact we were hoping to create,” Salzmann says.

Completing the impact required a display solution that would give every seat in the theater a clear view of the stage. In addition, the total weight of the solution had to conform to the architecture of the building ceiling. Systems designer Acoustics by Design and consultant Camera Corner Connecting Point turned to NanoLumens as part of evaluating everything from projectors to the eventual selection—LED.

The resulting Nanolumens design is a dramatic and ingenious five-sided pentagon 3mm NanoSlim LED display solution. Each of the five curved displays measures 10’H X 6.5’W and is joined together to create a single structure that measures 16’ across the center and meets the weight restriction at 3,600 pounds, including the winch.
