The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) has appointed Helge Fischer of Jamo as chair of its 2006 Manufacturers’ Council.

CEDIA’s Manufacturers’ Council works closely with the association’s members to enhance relationships between electronic systems contractors and manufacturers. The council strives to promote manufacturer members through the annual CEDIA EXPO as well as through CEDIA University and other CEDIA or industry-related initiatives.

Fischer, a native of Denmark, launched the U.S. division of Jamo in 1979. He has served as the division’s managing director since its founding. The original mission of Jamo as a sales subsidiary of the Danish speaker manufacturer has evolved into a role as global headquarters for Jamo’s custom division. This custom division has provided a platform for Fischer’s anticipation of consumer demands in the United States and in Europe.

“Jamo U.S. is a founding member of CEDIA, so we’re especially pleased that Helge is assuming this leadership role within our Manufacturers’ Council,” says Don Gilpin, assistant executive director of CEDIA. “Our entire membership—and in particular our manufacturer members—will benefit greatly from Helge’s extensive experience as well as his insights into emerging industry trends.”
