Extron Electronics has introduced a new fee-based service to provide customized graphical user interfaces for use with the new MLC 104 IP Plus, as well as the MLC 226 IP, and System 5 IP. The IP Link capability of these products enables developers to create a unique Web-based user interface that extends the flexibility of controlling the AV system to computer screens and touchscreens.

Working with your staff, Extron will provide a finished product complete with instructions for uploading to each controller in your system. The GUI may be customized with a school or organization logo and color schemes. After you have made a few simple choices, Extron does all the customization work for you.

“The Web-based graphical user interface complements the Extron MediaLink Controller in the room and provides a secure, alternative control point for the user in addition to the push-button control panel,” says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. “Many users desire the flexibility of controlling the environment directly from their computer in addition to the intuitive MediaLink controller button panels.”

With the new GUI customization service, you can provide a low-cost, graphically rich control environment in each and every room. The integrated IP Link Web-serving technology in these products makes adding a high-quality, customized user interface easy, and it enables control from any networked PC or laptop using either a mouse or touchscreen.
