Proposed Licensing in Massachusetts

Legislation has been introduced in Massachusetts that could have a huge impact on how systems integrators conduct business. Introduced earlier this year, the controversial Massachusetts house bill H 1782 requires licensing for everyone who works in the electronics systems industry.

This bill will require technicians and installers in every low-voltage specialty (including audio and video) to be licensed under a new telecommunications professional license.

The complete house bill can be downloaded at www.nsca.org. Please read it and provide your feedback so that the NSCA may formulate a position statement on behalf of its members. E-mail your response to Chuck Wilson: [email protected]
