The first annual fall meeting of the NSCA Manufacturer’s Council, held September 13, sought to develop activities for the upcoming year. Because the NSCA operates on an August 1 fiscal year, the council has the next year to improve the value of NSCA manufacturer membership beyond exhibiting at the annual Expo. The purpose of the council is “to better understand what manufacturers need from the NSCA throughout the year,” said NSCA executive director Chuck Wilson.

The agenda for the meeting included reports from the committee’s three task forces: research and trends, outreach and image development, and workforce development. Each group discussed activity proposals, most notably a series of research projects available only to NSCA manufacturer members.
