Flat-panel mounts

Ergotron has debuted the TM large display tilting wall mount, WM LoProfile large display wall mount, LX wall mount arm, and Neo-Flex wall mount lift. The TM non-rigid mount supports flat-panel displays that measure from 32 to 61 inches and weigh up to 175 pounds. The WM mount provides the same display compatibilities as the TM, but is available in a low-profile stationary format. The LX wall mount arm (pictured here) offers display placement with up to 360 degrees of arm rotation around the base, 180 degrees of side-to-side display pivot motion, a 24-inch reach extension, and 9 inches of vertical range lift. The Neo-Flex lift offers 5 inches of height adjustability and is designed for monitors and displays measuring up to 20 inches and weighing up to 20 pounds. Ultra-directional loudspeaker

The AudioBeam ultra-directional loudspeaker from Sennheiser is designed to focus sound to a specific area. Targeted for use in museums, exhibitions, theme parks, and information terminals, the loudspeaker offers 600-ohm impedance, 90 W amplifier output, 50-ohm BNC audio output, and a balanced XLR-3F socket audio input. According to the company, the AudioBeam uses ultrasound technology, which modulates the audible sound onto a 40 kHz ultrasonic carrier frequency and emits the signal via the unit’s 150 piezoelectric transducers. Audio transmitter

The MM400B transmitter from Lectrosonics offers a waterproof, programmable switch, a steel cable battery door retainer, and an IFB compatibility emulation mode. According to the company, the transmitter features 100 mW RF power with a circular isolator at the output for reduced IM distortion. The MM400B incorporates the company’s Digital Hybrid Wireless technology, which enables users to transmit audio without an analog compandor when used in native 400 Series mode. Price: $1,250. Large-venue projector

The XG-PH50X networkable projector from Sharp is designed for use in large venues such as conference rooms and lecture halls. The projector offers a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, brightness ranging from 1,600 to 4,000 ANSI lumens, six lens options, and native XGA (1024×768) resolution. The XG-PH50X features Sharp’s built-in CV-IC video processing chip, which smoothes edges, minimizes image noise, and creates rectangular images with keystone correction, according to the company. KVM over IP solution

Targeted at systems administrators, telecommuters, and collaborative computing users, the Simple-Link KVM over IP device from Logical Solutions/thinklogical supports video resolutions up to 1600×1200, offers secure socket layer (SSL) certificate management, and uses SSLv3/TLSv1 encryption. The unit measures 2.8 inches wide by 4 inches long by 1 inch high, and connects to the host computer or KVM switch with supplied cables. Price: $549. Availability: currently available. Matrix switcher

Kramer’s VS-5×5 matrix switcher is designed to simultaneously route composite video and balanced stereo audio signals to any combination of inputs and outputs (or all of the five composite video inputs to any or all of the five outputs). The unit can be controlled via front-panel buttons, infrared remote control, or RS484 and RS232 serial commands transmitted from a touchscreen system, PC, or other serial controller. Bass enhancer/dynamic processor

Targeted for use in live sound reinforcement applications, the Waves MaxxBCL bass enhancer/dynamic processor is designed to reduce low-frequency content while increasing bass sound. The 2U rack-mount unit incorporates the company’s MaxxBass enhancer, Renaissance compressor, and L2 Ultramaximizer limiter. The unit offers analog (balanced and unbalanced) and digital inputs and outputs, and features AES-EBU and S/PDIF capabilities at sample rates of up to 96 kHz. Targeted for high-end video systems, the VisionPro HDP video processor from Lumagen is a rack-mountable device that provides four digital and six analog inputs for system switching. The processor offers user-adjustable image enhancement; a built-in 10-bit digital-to-analog converter with over-sampling for analog outputs; a programmable output resolution from 480p to 1080p/i; selectable aspect ratios of 4:3, 16:9, and 1.85; and 2:2, 3:2, and 3:3 pull-down for film sources. Extron’s Connectivity Configurator is an interactive, drag-and-drop online tool designed to enable systems integrators to customize architectural connector solutions for AV systems. Targeting fixed installation applications, Audio-Technica’s UniPoint podium, boundary, hanging, and handheld microphones feature an 80 Hz UniSteep filter to remove unwanted low frequencies, a two-stage foam windscreen for P-pop and breath resistance, and off-axis rejection. The podium and hanging microphones offer interchangeable condenser elements, which are available in four pickup patterns: cardioid, hypercardioid, omnidirectrional, and miniature-shotgun UniLine. The boundary microphones feature programmable switching and an LED status indicator. Control system technology

Crestron has introduced its DualTouch Technology, which is incorporated in the company’s 15-inch DTT-15V2 and 18-inch DTT-18 touchpanel systems. DualTouch technology enables users to control AV sources with the touchpanel and annotate over an AV presentation using a wireless pen. According to the company, the technology allows users to instantly and automatically switch between fingertip operation and wireless pen use. DualTouch technology disables the touchpanel’s resistive membrane whenever the pen tip is within 0.5 cm of the touchscreen, allowing users to rest the palms of their hands on the screen without activating system controls. Scaler/seamless switcher

The CVG-719DS multi-standard video-to-RGBHV scaler and seven-input seamless presentation switcher from Comprehensive converts composite, S-video, and component video (SDTV and HDTV), VGA through UXGA, and DVI-D signals to 14 user-selectable pixel rates and a user-selected output mode. Barco has introduced the touchscreen Remote Alignment and Control Unit (xRACU) to provide central management and control of linked Barco projectors. The xRACU works with a Windows-based PC master control unit that downloads projector data and transmits information to the device via RS422 serial channels. The control unit’s DynaColor feature aligns projectors to a common color triangle to ensure that each projector has the same primary and secondary color coordinates. Its Linked CLO function monitors and adjusts the brightness of all linked projectors to the lowest value.
