BG, a leading innovator in high-performance loudspeakers, announced important management changes for the highly regarded brand. Warren Kocmond, who has served as the company’s CEO since its inception in 1994, announced his retirement and named Paul G. Kahn as his replacement, effective immediately.
Kahn brings a wealth of successful business experience in his noted career. During his career he has been the recipient of numerous marketing and business awards including Marketing Executive of the Year from the American Marketing Association (AMA); and received several “Effies” for marketing and advertising.
In addition, Kahn received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award from the President of the United States, the highest business award in the United States. He has also been featured in Fortune, Forbes, and Business Week magazines. Kahn has served BG as an executive consultant since December 2005.
Kocmond will remain Chairman of BG’s Board of Directors as well as a strategic consultant to the company. Ed Jaeger remains President and CFO and will continue to oversee the company’s day-to-day operations.
“I am delighted to be assuming the role of CEO at BG. Our company has award-winning products and compelling, patented technologies that offer real benefits to users of high-quality audio products. I am intent on building this brand to represent both product excellence and superior service to our customers.” comments Kahn. “I would also like to acknowledge the excellent stewardship of Warren Kocmond and Ed Jaeger in growing BG while maintaining profitability over the past six years.”
On the appointment of Kahn, Kocmond comments, “We are indeed fortunate to have someone of Paul’s caliber now leading BG. Our company has enjoyed a number of notable successes in recent years and it is certainly an exciting time for the brand. Paul has all the necessary business skills and vision to take BG to much higher levels and I am confident he will do so.”
