Smart-e is launching a suite of three Accredited Training programs at this year’s CEDIA Expo, aimed at improving professionals’ knowledge and ability to design and install multi-room audiovisual entertainment systems using Cat-5 cabling. Additionally, Smart-e will be demonstrating its new compact, multi-screen entertainment system, the SNX8x8+, in a multi-room environment on its stand (H9), giving visitors a chance to see the new equipment in action. Jon Lane, Smart-e’s managing director will also deliver a seminar, within the formal CEDIA program, addressing the problems surrounding distributing HD content around the home.

Smart-e Accredited Installer program

As a designer and manufacturer of audio visual and switching equipment, Smart-e recognizes that as technology becomes more complex, professionals need to update their knowledge to ensure systems are installed correctly. Lane says, “Once Sky starts transmitting HD programs, we anticipate there will be a substantial increase in the demand for multi-screen entertainment systems in the home. Choosing the right combination of equipment, the correct cabling and installation procedures for highly technical equipment across several rooms, can be extremely complex and fraught with problems if not designed and installed precisely. These one-day training programs provide a cost-effective and quick way of gaining the knowledge to install multi-room AV entertainment equipment successfully.”

Delivered by experienced professionals, each one-day course caters to individuals at different knowledge and experience levels. Successful participants gain a certificate relevant to the level gained, benefit from extra discounts on Smart-e equipment and inclusion on the company’s website as an Accredited Smart-e Installer.

The Foundation course (Smart-e Accredited Installer, Level 1) is aimed at those with little or no experience in the installation of AV entertainment systems. The Intermediary program (Smart-e Accredited Installer, Level 2) is designed for professionals already working in the industry who are seeking to update technical knowledge, hone skills, and improve Cat-5 cabling installation practices. Smart-e’s Advanced course (Smart-e Accredited Installer, Level 3) will attract AV professionals who require a greater depth of knowledge for the design and installation of AV entertainment systems incorporating HD. This advanced program includes troubleshooting, equipment and cable analysis, and interpretation of results.
