STORAGE

Bell Microproducts‘ new line of network storage, the Hammer Z-Series, integrates Z-SAN Storage-over-IP technology, eliminating the need for costly controllers, dedicated switches, and RAID controllers that also serve as performance bottlenecks. The products aggregate for capacity up to 128PB per volume across multiple enclosures and for performance of at least 10GBps across multiple enclosures. The Z-Series includes the Z-Box desktop and the Z-Rack 1U rackmount solutions, both with capacities of up to 2TB per device.

SOFTWARE

Nero‘s upgraded Nero 7 software suite uses Nvidia PureVideo HD technology for cinematic-quality playback of HD DVD and Blu-ray movies on PCs. It provides hardware acceleration for decoding AVC/H.264 and MPEG-2 movies, and performs advanced post-processing techniques, such as spatial-temporal de-interlacing. The video processing core offloads the CPU and 3D engine of complex video tasks, freeing the PC to run multiple applications simultaneously.
