Adobe’s Generative Remove is like a magic eraser for Lightroom

Users can quickly scribble out an object from their photo, which Generative Remove replaces with impressive results

Adobe is adding a new generative AI tool to its Lightroom app, and it’s been designed to be easy enough to use that even a casual photo editor can fix their images on the fly. Called Generative Remove, the tool allows users to scribble over an item or object they wish to remove from a photo, with Lightroom then providing three different options with the removed object “filled in” to select from.

Adobe calls Generative Remove Lightroom’s “most powerful remove tool yet” while also possibly being its simplest. The new feature is currently in early access for all Lightroom platforms, including web and mobile. This means even casual users will quickly be able to remove objects from photos on their phone without having to open up any advanced editing software.

While Generative Remove is free while in early access, no wider release date or pricing has yet been confirmed.
