Elton John may have completed his farewell tour in 2023, a hologram version of the legendary singer-songwriter will reportedly be taking up residence in Las Vegas.
According to British tabloid The Sun, John has signed a multimillion-pound contract for a hologram residency at the upcoming Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. The hotel is scheduled to open in late 2027, and will also host Kiki Dee and Dua Lipa, both former collaborators of John’s, as part of the residency, according to The Sun.
“Elton, Dua and Kiki will be holograms,” a source told The Sun. “It’s similar to the ABBA Voyage show in London, but far more advanced as the technology has come on so much. Elton signed a seven-figure deal with Hard Rock. It’s a shift away from a traditional residency and is billed as a fully immersive experience.”
John, Dua Lipa, and Dee are reportedly set to film their performances for the hologram residency this fall in England.
