Gemini is continuing its rollout into all things in the Google ecosystem, and has now become available on Android Auto. Google announced that the rollout has begun and will continue over the course of the coming months.
Gemini comes to Google TV Streamer
Instead of needing to say a specific phrase to instruct the car’s infotainment system to complete a desired action, Gemini’s integration allows drivers to speak naturally and conversationally to Android Auto, providing a more natural hands-free experience. Google mentions several use cases for Gemini’s integration, including asking to map new stops along a route, inquiring about a local business, and to send and messages safely on the road.
Gemini for Android Auto will also allow drivers to control their desired entertainment with voice commands with a conversational tone. For example, Google suggests users try asking something like, “It’s raining. Can you play songs perfect for a rainy drive?” Google says that drivers who use Gemini on their phone should keep an eye out for a tooltip on their car display that will let them know that Gemini for Android Auto is now available in their car.
