WATCH: Google unveils Google Vids, its newest workspace app

New app looks to help you turn your bare-bones outline into a full-fledged video

Google has announced the newest productivity app for its Workspace suite: Google Vids. Presented as an “all-in-one video creation app for work that will sit alongside Docs, Sheets and Slides,” the new app unsurprisingly leverages AI to help turn user’s ideas into complete videos. AI isn’t used to generate any video footage, but rather help the user organize their ideas and be more productive. The workflow seems intuitive, beginning with an outline editor and gradually converting your outline into a full-fledge script. A text-to-speech voiceover is available, as is a stock media library. As with the rest of the Workplace suite, collaboration is enabled in encouraged, with multiple parties able to work on a Google Vids project at a time. Google says that the new app will begin testing in June, where users can opt-in via Workspace Labs.
