Italy’s Alien Sound Festival, originally planned to take place over the weekend of July 4th, had to be postponed after its main stage collapsed during setup. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and event organizers were originally hopeful that the festival would proceed as planned, but after an assessment of the site, it became apparent that a rescheduling was in order.
In addition to the main stage, winds also reportedly took down other structures being set up, including lighting towers. Damage to the site was severe enough to force organizers to reschedule the event. Originally planned as a two-day event, Alien Sound Festival will now proceed as a single-day event on July 23rd.
“We know how much this situation may have caused inconvenience and disappointment,” said festival organizers in a statement. “However, we would like to assure you that we did everything in our power to allow the festival to take place on the originally scheduled dates. We thank you for the trust, patience and support you continue to show us.”
