Swedish brand Transparent, known for artsy see-through speakers, has now brought the same aesthetic to turntables (just as Audio Technica celebrates sixty years of transparent turntables).
“It is designed to seamlessly integrate with our speakers providing a complete audio ecosystem that immerses you in music, connecting you intimately with your favorite artists and their creations,” said the outfit’s Creative Director, Per Brickstad.
Three years in development, it’s a sculpture of aluminum and tempered glass—event the dust cover, with its dampened hinge—is glass. Built-in phono stage and Bluetooth 5.0 connect it to Transparent’s range of speakers of course, but also to any wired or wireless speaker with or without an external amp.

A belt-drive spins the aluminum platter at 33 and 45 rpm, claiming less than one percent variance in speed. The turntable comes with a fitted tonearm and a pre-mounted Ortofon OM5E (MM) moving-magnet cartridge that makes use of an elliptical diamond stylus.
A modular architecture that allows for easy disassembly and component replacement.
The Transparent Turntable is on sale now in black or white for US$1,300, Shipping is expected to start from mid-November.
Stockholm-based Transparent was founded by Per Brickstad, Martin Willers and Magnus Wiberg.
